I am part of Steve’s Global People Analytics (GPA) team. I don’t have an opportunity to work directly with him as he is several levels above me. I really get to know Steve during the past few months when many of our HR roles are being eliminated due to organization restructuring. When facing this transformation, Steve steps up and demonstrates his amazing leadership by actively guiding and leading supporting groups across several platforms. I had the pleasure of working with Steve in his role as the Head of Global People Analytics (GPA) & HR Governor for the past 4 years deploying Workday to over 750,000 people. He was an exceptional and innovative business partner willing to push the boundaries of product roadmaps and solutions. In addition, he would always be willing to share his knowledge and expertise with his peers externally. Steve was our Global People Analytics lead, with the task of guiding a very big global team with diverse skills and backgrounds through several project, challenges and technologies to accomplish our Global Digital Strategy. Steve and I worked together on several projects during my time at Accenture and I found him to be a valuable partner. Notably, at the onset of the pandemic we were partnered on a global project that was rife with emotion and stress - Steve was able to keep us focused on the critical steps it would take to deliver the compassionate world class program we were creating.

In our “day jobs”, I was Steve’s internal client. He was always interested in hearing the vision for the data views I was requesting and would offer a creative approach that solved my needs. I have been fortunate to work closely with Steve for over 5 years, gaining first-hand insight to his strong skills related to team organization, people management and business policies. Steve is Chief of Staff and HR Data Governor to the human resources analytics and data reporting team supporting a large, multifaceted global organization of ~750,000 employees. In these roles, Steve manages business operations, customer relationships, and delivery of the HR data & reporting strategy, along with organizing and developing a cross-functional team of ~200 employees. Steve is an active and involved leader that is present with the team, provides direction on priority areas of leadership focus and guides our portfolio teams on next steps and connections to contacts to move projects along in a timely manner. As a team member reporting to Steve, I have always felt well supported and that I have an advocate looking out for my career growth and progress. Personally, Steve invested in my development while I was working with a challenging stakeholder group, coaching me on my style related to leadership communications, expectation setting and prioritization.
